It would be better if it were a covered patio, rather than trellis. Of course UL wouldn't reccommend this installation. You might see the life of the lantern reduced. The only one I readily found was the Kichler Lighting 9894. It is wet location listed. However, I don't know what your budget is. If you're in southern california you probably have less to worry about than northern california. I highly doubt it will be a significant problem.
