The house is about 50 years old with the cloth covered wires. In my bedroom just installed a ceiling fan and light. Before installation, from my bedroom ceiling three wires came threw two of which are the black and white wires for the ceiling fan and light and one I’m not sure what it does, wasn’t connect to anything previously.
The PROBLEM- I installed the fan and light both working just fine, but now the lights in the next room over and my porch light do not work. The oulets in those rooms work but not the ceiling fixtues.
Any ideas to the problem? I’m guessing I dislodged a wire when installing the ceiling fan that ran power to the other rooms….
